Game holds closed beta test from March 16-22

Developer Team Caravan began streaming a new introduction trailer for it and Aiming‘s upcoming Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka Battle Chronicle (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Battle Chronicle) battle action role-playing game for iOS and Android devices on Friday. The video previews sajou no hana‘s theme song “Mettle Link” (song title romanization not confirmed).

The game will hold a closed beta test from March 16 to March 22.

The game is slated for release in spring 2023.

The game is part of the 10th anniversary celebration of Fujino Ōmori and Suzuhito Yasuda‘s original Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka novel series. The game will be free to play with optional in-game purchases. The game will allow players to experience the franchise‘s story and its battles again with familiar characters such as Bell and Hestia in “anime-like 3D graphics.” The anime’s cast members are reprising their roles.

Players can assemble their own party with various training elements such as “adventurer,” “assist,” and “scene cards,” and then embark on adventures. There will be battle royales where every other character is a foe, as well as autoplay battles where organization is key.

Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka IV Shinshō Meikyū-hen (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV New Arc: Labyrinth), the fourth anime season, premiered in Japan on July 22. HIDIVE is streaming the anime under the title Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV. Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka IV Shinshō Yakusai-hen (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV Late Arc: Disaster), the new arc in the fourth season, premiered on January 5.

Yen Press is releasing both Fujino Ōmori and Suzuhito Yasuda‘s original novel series and the Sword Oratoria spinoff novels, as well as their respective manga adaptations, in North America.

#1 World-Ranked Figure Skater Shoma Uno Stars as Luffy in One Piece on Ice Show

Ice show runs in Yokohama in August, Nagoya in September with choreography by Kenji Miyamoto

The official Twitter account for Eiichiro Oda‘s One Piece manga franchise announced on Sunday that the franchise’s first-ever ice show, One Piece on Ice: Episode of Alabasta, will star Shoma Uno as Luffy.

Uno is currently ranked at #1 in the world in men’s figure skating according to the International Skating Union (ISU). He won the ISU World Championships 2023 competition last month, and also won the ISU Grand Prix Final 2022/23 and the 2022–23 Japan Figure Skating Championships in December.

The Japan Times reported last month that Uno said he would “evaluate his creative path forward during off-season ice shows, suggesting he felt his performances were was stagnating.”

Uno said regarding his recent wins, “I’m happy to get the results I wasn’t getting until two years ago, but I feel like now I’m skating for the results. I’m not accomplishing interesting, fun skates like (former men’s world champion) Daisuke Takahashi, and I think I can accomplish those at ice shows and use that to figure out how I want to skate going forward.”

Kahori Kanatani is directing the ice show, and Kenji Miyamoto (Yuri!!! on Ice) is the choreographer. The ice show will run in Yokoyama on August 11-13 and in Nagoya on September 2-3. The show will adapt the franchise’s Alabasta arc.

Oda began serializing the One Piece manga in Weekly Shonen Jump on July 19, 1997. The manga centers on Monkey D. Luffy, an aspiring pirate who, like many other pirates, dream of claiming the legendary “One Piece” treasure left behind by a legendary pirate. He gathers a crew and a ship and explores the Grand Line in search of the treasure, while also confronting rival pirates and government navies along the way.

The One Piece Film Red anime film opened in Japan in August 2022. The movie is the franchise’s highest-selling and highest-earning film installment, in terms of both the number of tickets sold and yen earned at the box office. The film is the #8 highest-earning film of all time in Japan and topped Japan’s box office for 2022 in terms of yen earned and tickets sold.

Netflix is producing a live-action series adaptation of the manga that will debut this year.

Tokyo Revengers Anime to Adapt Tenjiku Arc With 2 New Cast Members

The Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown anime arc based on Ken Wakui‘s Tokyo Revengers manga ended on Sunday with the announcement of the Tenjiku Arc in anime.

The announcement also revealed that Nobunaga Shimazaki plays Izana Kurokawa, the head of the Yokohama-based Tenjiku team. Tetsu Inada plays Kanji Mochizuki, one of Tenjiku’s Four Heavenly Kings.

Wakui launched the manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in March 2017. Kodansha published the manga’s 30th compiled book volume on November 17. The manga ended on November 16, although Weekly Shōnen Magazine is serializing the Tokyo Revengers Extra spinoff manga about the founders of the Tokyo Manji Gang.

Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga in English, and it describes the story:

Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The first of the two sequel live-action films Chi no Halloween -Unmei- (Bloody Halloween -Fate-) will open in Japan on April 21, while the second film Chi no Halloween -Kessen- (Bloody Halloween -Decisive Battle-) will open on June 30.
