The April issue of Akita Shoten‘s Champion RED magazine revealed last Friday that J-ta Yamada‘s Eko Eko Azarak Reborn manga will end with its next chapter in the magazine’s next issue on March 17.

The manga is a remake of late manga author Shinichi Koga‘s Eko Eko Azarak manga, which focuses on high school student Misa, a model student who is also secretly a witch who uses brutal dark magic to fight for justice.

Yamada launched the manga in Champion RED in March 2020. Akita Shoten published the manga’s fourth compiled book volume in October 2022.

Koga serialized the original horror manga in Akita Shoten‘s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine between 1975 and 1979, and Akita Shoten published the series in 19 volumes.

The manga inspired six live-action films between 1995 and 2006, as well as a live-action television series in 1997. The manga also inspired a two-episode OVA series in 2007. In addition, the manga has inspired two video games.

Koga passed away on March 1, 2018.

Yamada previously adapted Nobuaki Kanazawa‘s popular mobile phone novel King’s Game (Ousama Game) into a manga titled King’s Game: Origin. Crunchyroll published chapters of the manga in English. Shinichi Okada and Yamada ended their Inō Maze (Supernatural Power Maze) manga in 2018. Yamada’s Asatte no Hōkō manga inspired the 2006 Living for the Day After Tomorrow television anime.

The anime films of Yomiji Otono’s Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e (To Every You I’ve Loved Before) and Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e (To Me, The One Who Loved You) novels will begin streaming on Crunchyroll on April 20 in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and India.

Each movie had different directors and animation studios. Jun Matsumoto (Brothers Conflict, Night Raid 1931) directed Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e at BAKKEN RECORD. Kenichi Kasai (Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile, Amanchu!) directed Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e at TMS Entertainment. Riko Sakaguchi (The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, Mary and The Witch’s Flower) penned the script for both films, and shimano (JK Haru is a Sex Worker in Another World novel cover art) was credited for character design concepts for both films.

Otono released the two science-fiction romance novels on the same day on June 23, 2016. Both complement each other, but can be read in either order. The books take place in a world where traveling to parallel worlds is a common, everyday occurrence.

Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e centers on Koyomi Takasaki, a boy who lives with his mother after his parents divorce. He attempts to make friends in his new college prep school, but his social awkwardness combined with an atmosphere of focusing on studies means he is unsuccessful. Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e centers on Koyomi Hidaka, a boy who lives with his father after his parents divorce. He meets a girl named Shiori Satō at his father’s research lab, and they begin a relationship that is slowly blossoming into love. But everything changes when their parents decide to marry each other, and they decide to move to a parallel world where they are not stepsiblings.
